Today, Britney Spears fans everywhere had a massive midriff-baring conniption when her newest single "Hold It Against Me" was released to the public, shortly following the release of the demo on January 6th.
The new track is right up B-Spears' alley, with allusions to some mysterious stranger in the club, loud fist-pumping music, and some sort of outer-body dance sexplosion occurring on the floor. It is most reminiscent of the Spears/Madonna match up for "Me Against the Music" (2003), sans the cone bra-wearing pop icon. Vocals-wise, you can expect typical Britney with a little LESS voice editing, surprisingly so. But it's not a bad thing. The song has a lot of potential for a classicly tantalizing Brit Brit music video, and I'm excited to see what the now 29 year old mother of two has in store for us.
Britney's complete album featuring this first debuted track "Hold It Against Me" - her seventh album, which is being produced by Max Martin and Dr. Luke - will be released sometime this March, leaving her millions of fans dancing in their hotpants for the next two months. Jersey Shore's resident DJ Pauly D promises that the album will be one of Brit's "greatest", as it follows the dance style of to which he is partial. Let's hope he's right about that.
